That’s one reason the presence of a major unneeded component might _rationally_ affect your judgment of it negatively.
Another reason is that where the program is designed intelligently (if it isn’t, why consider it in any event), there will be an intended set of best practices that will probably involve using both modules, and will adversely affect the desired function used alone. One difference between the NoteMap and Inspiration outliner is that the outline itself in NoteMap has more visual appeal. This may be related to the fact that the outliner in Inspiration is intended to complement the diagrammer.
