InfoDepot -- & FREE & OPEN outlooks?

Hi All,

This is wonderful. My first message follows. Thanks Dave! FWIW, I've been hooked on More since way, way back. Then, in time, went to InfoDepot, a Chena product, Allentown PA, that since went bye-bye. Plugged was pulled by West Publishing (MN). It had gone beta for WIN and Mac with new version too. I helped to put InfoDepot into a short-lived Village Compass Bundle a few years ago.

So, I'm a rabid InfoDepot fan too, for sure. One of my wishes was to get InfoDepot's code and put it into a GNU-styled, FREE & OPEN license. There was a lot of potential in that title for what I wanted to do in sports and such.

Are any of hopes of getting to a FREE & OPEN state with MORE? Is that just too far fetched?

Advice welcomed.....

Hi Again,

I coach swimming. We have lots of athletes (files on each one) with lots of personal records and attempts. A personal digial athletic profile (InfoDepot) on each athlete would be fantastic.

Swim events, times, places, conditions all in one line, spreadsheet style. Also the history of those swims over time and performance results.

Plus weight, height, strength measures, workout reps/weights/lifts, and such are also prime sources, even shoe sizes and such.

Then activities such as "self-talk" and "sleep evaluations" would all be part of the file too for the athletes. Study time, you name it -- we could make it fit into a single file -- given proper headers and such.

Then a coach could be able to have macros to pull out results, merge and summarize. With InfoDepot (ID), each ID document could contain cells that held other other ID documents.

Oh well.... If you want to get some venture capital, let me know. Been there, tried that. Now that my kids are growing older, perhaps another whirl makes sense. =;?

I too followed the More to InfoDepot route. Both were great programs -- glad to see that More is revived. Thanks to Dave!

I tossed InfoDepot away when it conflicted with whatever system I was running at the time. Does it work with System 8.6 and above? Any way to get a copy if it does?

FYI, I came to this forum from the Netmanage forum on ECCO. This is a similar product, actually nothing I know of does quite what ECCO can do. ECCO made me move much of my project work off of the Mac platform...
