Yes, I see you’re right. I recall there was some advanced outlining function that everyone complained Inspiration left out. Now I think it’s folding.

I hadn’t looked at Inspiration for a while. Now I’m wondering why it isn’t more popular outside education. Except for folding, it seems to have every feature that NoteMap can claim, and NoteMap costs twice as much. Leaving aside the concept mapping features, it also exceeds NoteMap by having formatable inline text.

What exactly does NoteMap have over Inspiration? Does it perhaps perform better? I suppose it has a lot more support for tool bars for outlining.

Inspiration does have a Hoist command. It is on the View Menu and is called “Focus In.”
