David and Marck’s idea is to build Brainstorm Pro around a “finer-grained” core architecture; at the moment, the smallest data unit that Brainstorm can handle is a single entry i.e. phrase/paragraph. This means that any kind of formatting/metadata such as colour can only be set for the whole entry.
The “finer-grained” architecture would make every single letter a data item, allowing RTF formatting within the entry, URL links etc.
Brainstorm Pro is little more than a dream construction as yet, as far as I can tell, which is not necessarily a bad thing. You may add your own most desired features, rated on a scale from 6 to 1 from most to least important; join the Beta list and send a message with the title WIBNI Pro. (WIBNI = Wouldn’t It Be Nice If)
My own wish list:
6. Aerial View: Folding / Editable / Printable
5. Synchronised windows (i.e. linked to the aerial view)
4. Search creates list of entries; clicking on one synchronises the next window
4 (alternative) Search marks entries on the aerial view
3. XML (preferably native format, else export)
2. Entries metadata; i.e. created by, date changed, etc
1. Possibility to label entries; i.e. Name, Address… use templates and filters on them
