I would expect .tab files to maintain the structure, with outline levels represented as tabbed indent levels, i.e.

Heading

> Level 1 item

> > Level 2 item

> > > Level 3 item

(I’ve used > to represent tabs above) If your output .tab file looks something like that, then in all probability you’ll be able to export to a number of modern outliners.

The main question is _where_ you want to export. MyInfo, suggested by Stephen, appears an excellent choice in Windows. Are you ready to move to the Windows platform or are you looking for an Apple OS X solution?
