Stephen,
On the one hand, you make a good point. Developers should do what they do best… But on the other hand, I’m not sure that the majority of computer users are as crazy as we are and willing to purchase several different programs to optimize their information management activities. A program that has certain strengths, can also benefit from including able, if not outstanding, facilities for other data management processes. The people on this list, I think, are not representative of the masses of potential computer software buyers, and programmers who create products that appeal to us while ignoring the many may not be around for long.
