Chris, I think the approach you describe, that is typing a word not in the content at the bottom of the content, is at best a workaround.
It is OK if you’re wanting to filter items based on one keyword.
Here’s what I mean.
I can type at the end of a document Freud, if his name isn’t in the content.
Then I do a search for Freud and I get all items which contain Freud.
But what if I want all items that contain two or more keywords? That’s when it’s nice to have lists of grouped keywords or categories that you can very quickly scan and select—it’s a lot faster than typing the words into a search form.
Having lists of keywords is helpful because you can peruse them as a group—and be sure that you use all of the appropriate keywords, rather than work from memory, “oh yes, I should also type this word into the search form.”
