I feel many would benefit from seeing some great sample docs that you “power users” have created in MORE and INSPIRATION—so we can open them, edit them, get a feel for how to use certain features.
MY EDITORIAL COMMENT + A LOGISTICAL SUGGESTION FOR POSTING:
Most of us know about right-brain/left-brain differences. But beyond those, I am better understanding my own and others’ brain-processing styles. For me, as verbally descriptive as some of the suggestions in these threads have been for taking advantage of various app features, I can’t grasp these suggestions til I see it. Also, with all due respect to any software authors here, I have yet to see any app that provides template or library docs that are out-the-box relevant to me and my needs. I don’ think I am dense; I just think it takes a lot of end-users to best figure out how to optimally use certain software. Thus, I believe that if any users out there would be willing to post both some general-purpose as well as specialty-purpose docs (that are non-proprietary and non-confidential), many of us could jumpstart our enhanced usage of these apps.
SUGGESTIONS FOR POSTING SAMPLE DOCS:
(1) I propose that a new thread be started by anyone out there titled:
“PROJECT CATEGORIES for Outliner Docs”. Idea would be for current and prospective users of outliner/flowchart apps to list (or add to a list) of categories of project-types. For example:
* Novel Writing
* Screenplay Writing
* Website Information Architecture
* Meeting Notes
* Instruction Guides
etc.
This needn’t be a long exercise. One or two people could easily identify the dominant usage categories—and if there are forgotten categories, they get added to now or later.
(2) A web area be created within this “outliners.com” domain where sample docs could be posted, categorized by the results of (1) above. A simple method/interface of uploading a file be created, such that non-engineers don’t have to ftp or anything. Make it as simple as a file attachment in Yahoo mail, only it gets auto-posted under the correct category—and maybe there’s a data-entry field where you provide a brief descriptor of the project issues or particular app feature you are calling attention to ith your sample doc.
(3) If (2) doesn;t work either because the operators of this site are not inclined to do this (for legal or other reasons), then maybe a user in this discussion group would set up such a space and upload interface.
(4) If (3) doesn;‘t work because no one wants to or doesn’t have the time, then maybe this site could just identify parties who agree to send sample docs to requestees—categorized by project types (as in #1 above).
(5) If anyone reading this has one or more sample docs he/she would be willing to post or email to requestees, perhaps another thread could be created here called: “SAMPLE DOCS-Contributors List”.

My personal interest: I would love to get a sample INSPIRATION doc and a sample MORE doc created for Web Information Architure purposes.
Thank you! Richard Hoefer:
