At some point in the mid 90’s a coworker showed me Day-Timer Organier. At the time I was skeptical since I like PIMs that are a little more abstract (InfoSelect/ECCO comes to mind) but I gave it a try. To this day I feel like this is the best organizer/PIM created. The reason I say that is because I am just more productive when I use it. I has the traditional organizer look with day/week/month/to-do/contacts views but when you dive in deeper you find that everything is unified. Any given item regardless of type can have a date to make it show up in the calendar, it can also have reminders and can have an upcoming setting which makes it appear in the upcoming section of your daily view. Any item can be given a date by simply dragging it to the calendar which is displayed in all views. All completed items are also tracked in the daily view which makes it very easy to get a sense of accomplishment by looking at that section. It also has a global view which shows everything regardless of type and all data is indexed to make searches lightning fast. I bring this up because recently I reinstalled the program after not using it for a couple of years. It still works like a charm under XP provided you use the right antivirus. It does not suffer any slow down which was my major complaint the last time I used it. With nod32 it is very slow but with Kaspersky it works wonderfully. It also syncs just fine with my treo using it’s built in palm sync. So am I the only Day-Timer fan out there?
