I don’t buy into this argument much anymore. Nothing stops piracy and these forms of ani-piracy only stop the legitimate users. I also suffer from CRIMP and I have several software packages that every time I reinstall one of my machines (something I do frequently) I need to go begging to the developer for another license. So far I have not had much trouble but I have been questioned by at least one and it was VERY annoying. I know where to get this stuff warez in those cases the version I am running is the warez because I don’t want to deal with the developer anymore (We are talking about a product I bought).

Computer-specific registration isn’t necessarily to restrict you to one computer but to limit the potential for piracy.
