Hi.
What I'm looking for is really simple: a one-pane outliner for Windows, in a sleek design, with expanding/collapsing levels, much in the mac-way, and much better (and elegant) than Word's "outlining" feature, much the user interface of Frontier, shown on the startpage of www.outliners.com.
It would be nice, if it could also integrate with word, that is, it is possible to copy and paste, so that the levels are replicated in Word.
And at a reasonable price...
Regards,
Peter.

Though I personally don't use it, I think that Notemap covers most of your needs.

I'm not so sure about the "reasonable price" though. NoteMap 2 is $149 per user license.

In addition to the more sophisticated outliners, I would suggest you check out tkOutliner at http://tkoutline.sourceforge.net/wiki/
It is a very simple, yet practical little outline maker. It exports to a variety of formats (asii, html, xml, opml, email). Whether you get the results you hope for with an export to Word, I don't know, but it seems like you should. It is a stand-alone executable, so you can keep it on a mobile media and take it with you wherever you go.
And, as far as price goes, it is free!
