Mark and gather in clipboard

Does anybody now a clipboard utility that will _append_ new text clippings to the existing data?
I'm looking in effect for a simple mark-and-gather function that can be used to collect plain text or RTF from _within_ various text items; something like Word's Spike but that would work with all programs.
Clipmate can merge clippings collected in its database but I find it way too complicated when editing text.

I somehow missed your reference to ClipMate at the bottom first time around. I think the "bulk paste" function in M8 Multi Clipboard will do what you want.
