UR's logical links system appears to be a clone-based system that doesn't permit linking from one place within an info item to another place within that same item, another item, or to another topic in the tree.
Given that other programs have come out with simple approaches to governing a variety of link origins/destination I am wondering why UR chose to limit itself. I can see the logical links being helpful sometimes, but I do not want it to be the end-all and be-all of options available.
I do not think it is useful or even logical to restrict to a single approach -- flexibility is what permits users to personalize their use of a particular piece of software. Given, as one can infer from posts here, that our individual approaches to information/outlining software are highly idiosyncratic it is indeed logical to provide users with the options that recognize this fact.
Incidentally, I see that UR's price is now $49.

But isn't this limitation precisely that they talk about overcoming by providing Wiki-style links _within_ the texts in the future?

[Daly: Incidentally, I see that UR's price is now $49.]
UR's introductory pricing period has been extended to January 21, 2005 (was 15)
I'm still learning how to put it to actual use but, at this price, there's an awful lot of application in there. (Why do I get the impression that this line I just write is a sure sign of CRIMP?)
