[Steven Z.: The lack of hyperlinking didn’t even occur to me, probably because I never use them. I agree with you, Stephen, that hyperlinks are generally not very useful, although I think someone on this forum (Alex?) described using them as a work-around for the absence of cloning.]
We are discussing internal hyperlinks of course, i.e. “pointers” to other items/areas of the same database. I personally find them essential, and not just to replace Hyperclip’s lack of cloning.
As far as I can see, hyperlinks to specific textual elements _within_ a note are not supported in Hyperclip either and I don’t miss them much…
BUT, I have chosen to keep small sized notes, so that each represents a _single_ concept, issue, contact, etc information item. If it doesn’t, I will break it up into sub-items. So, for example, I will have an item for a company, and the people I know there will be separate sub-items. If I’m working on a project with one of them, I’ll have a direct hyperlink to their personal info under the project’s item.
I can’t even dare to consider working with Stephen D.‘s 1000-page scrolling document without hyperlinks pointing to specific paragraphs!
