Stephen, columns may not be important if all you’re doing is writing, but if you’re also using the outliner to organize your information they sure are helpful. My first experience with columns was on the old InControl program for the Mac, and I loved them. No one in the PC world has come close until ADM—in some ways ADM has moved ahead by permitting different sets of columns and different views. What puts ADM ahead also is the way that column data can be shown in a textcard as a form.
And there’s nothing in the Mac world that I’m aware of that has neat functionality of InfoHandler. ADM and InfoHandler are two reasons why I would now stay with PCs, although I guess ideally I’d get a high powered Mac and run Virtual PC on it so I could emulate Windows, as well as run Mac programs.
The reason I asked you about Tinderbox the other day is that though I have read about it I have trouble envisioning what all it can do. If anyone here has used Tinderbox, feel free to jump in and tell us about it.
I remember when Mac software was more expensive than PC software. It seems cheaper now, and Apple has also been bringing hardware costs down.
