[Stephen D.: I almost replied that if you find a pim costing under $100 that actually imports rtf files directly into its pages as though pasted (but better), I would buy it. Hyperclip doesn’t; at least not that I can see.]
Hyperclip does; in fact, as I mentioned, it displays formatting attributes like fractional leading line space that its own editor won’t allow you to enter. RTF display is courtesy of Microsoft’s component mentioned elsewhere. Try > Insert > Text from file. RTF and TXT are handled just fine.
[Stephen D.: What (TexNotes Pro) lacks is cloning… Cloning is vital if you want to use the bit as a database for general knowledge organization.]
Hyperclip doesn’t have cloning either; in fact, I haven’t found any implementation of cloning as desirable as Brainstorm’s Namesakes (which is unique because it actually recognises related information you’ve entered previously).
The simple -and adequate for me- workaround are internal links. Say that I’ve got info on Stephen Diamond in the Contacts branch of my database. When working on a project with Stephen Diamond, I will create an item called “> Stephen Diamond” under the project info branch; within this item notes I’ll just place a link to the original entry.
When I Ctrl-click on the link it will take me to Stephen Diamond’s contact details without leaving my position within the outline, thanks to Hyperclip’s ability to display tabbed multiple notes.
I’m sure a similar workaround is possible in TexNotes and other non-cloning enabled programs.
