Steve, here’s my vote for inclusion of a strong calendar/task feature. I consider the results of planning time and tasks as important information, along with my “knowledge” information, as the former lays out when and how I will deal with the latter.
I believe that there is no theoretical reason (in spite of what my friend SD suggests) why it should be impossible, or even all that difficult, to create an information manager that can be adapted by users to their individual needs, regardless of whether they are archiving data, undertaking a writing project, or tracking work-related data. By definition, such a program should allow one to plan tasks as to content and to time(s) of execution. Also by definition, such a program should have a strong outliner and hierarchial keyword capability (MDE InfoHandler) and/or metadata capabilities (ADM).
The information/knowledge area is too important for us to give software developers the impression that we will be satisfied with anything less than programs that integrate robust features; in other words, we must do away with the believe that it’s not possible to integrate elements that are every bit as full-featured as if they were stand-alone programs.
