I agree with you that the inability to manage dated information severely limits the value of any information management program. I want to be able to manage projects with my IM as well as my data, because the data (in the form of letters, memos, plans, copy, product info, research) often form the basis of a project. Not being able to assign due dates, appointment dates, milestones, etc… in a PIM is a mistake. I don’t, frankly, understand the reasoning behind MyInfo’s abandoning this kind of meta-data (if, in fact, that’s what they’ve done… I can’t really tell from the Preview on their web site). Zoot does an exceptional job incorporating date-related information… it’s still the best “tickler” going… and after you check “complete,” you’ve got a record of the time and date you completed the task.
