Hi, all,
I wanted to ask for a recommendation on Journal keeping software. I currently use a fine program called The Journal. Unfortunately, the developer is succumbing to the allure of adding too many features and stripping it of its basic function. I have been testing the beta of a new version which incorporates tables and a bunch of other features... all of which are fine... except that it has required changing editors, so now it is losing its extended selection capability (i.e. double-clicking a word does not select the word, triple-clicking does not select a paragraph). As you probably recall, I find that simple function essential for a writing environment. I can, of course, continue to use the old version, but that makes me feel like I'm heading down a dead end.
Thank you in advance for the recommendations.

Steve, I use MDE Infohandler for my journal. Being able to use categories (key words) to retrieve any kind of specific information about my activities, dreams, thoughts, people in my life, etc. is very helpful,

I haven't used it, nor do I have Journal writing experience, but I wonder whether a new product--out now only in beta--might not be the way to go. It is called EverNote. It combines free form database functions with a continuous view based on date. It seems to have some of the technology common to OneNote and GoBinder, permitting use of a tablet PC, if you think you might ever go in that direction.
