I did buy Literary Machine a few years ago and used it for a short while. It has some appealing features. I like the fact that the data disappears from view until you specifically recall it using the keywords and keyword associations that you’ve attached to every note. It also provides the opportunity to associate notes with projects and to sort them into outlines. These functions, however, are far, far from intuitive. I agree with Stephen that it is far too complex to become an everyday way to manage your ideas and data. Also, the notes are limited to plain text. I think, in effect, does not perform any function that Zoot does not, but Zoot is a lot more flexible and, in my mind, easier to use (that in itself may be a condemnation of LM as few programs are less intuitive than Zoot).
There is, of course, the free, scaled-down version that you can use as long as you want.
