Franz, I appreciated your post, as I do some writing also.
Rather than InfoSelect, I’d think that for storing and organizing information, especially information you need to be able to sort and retrieve precisely, that InfoHandler is a more appropriate tool. I am rather surprised that IH isn’t more widely used—the notion of a steep learning curve is exagerated, and once you start to try it out the way you think about categorizing and retrieving knowledge changes (in a good sense).
Having tried Notemap, and being an ADM 3 user, I would certainly prefer to outline and organize a nonfiction book with ADM 3. The metadata capability would permit you to neatly keep pertinent information, such as source data or comments, with each topic. ADM 3 also allows you to do fast searches and to use keywords. In addition, its ability to take data from the internet is better developed than IS.
I have never tried Storylines, and will check it out.
