Two features seem to distinguish the cutting edge tree organizers: the ability to display several notes either in a separate window or in a tabbed multi-document window; and 2) the ability to select multiple heading, to reorganize or to open at the same time.

AcuteNotes is a $19 tree organizer that displays multiple notes in a format I haven’t seen elsewhere. It may be more convenient than tabs, because AcuteNote provides for simultaneous viewing. It may be more convenient than multiple open windows because it avoids some of the confusion and doesn’t require you to view documents simultaneously in reduced dimensions.

The method is to open separate notes as part of one page on screen.

Note also that this program allows the various editing shortcuts.
