[ Would you expect mind mappig and concept mapping programs to appeal more to “right-brain” types, who are more visual than verbal? ]
Buzan et al maintain that mind mapping is the most “natural” way to represent information, for everyone more or less, because it’s closer to the way concept organisation takes place within the brain itself.
My personal experience when promoting the use of such tools is that their aesthetics play a surprisingly significant role in their comprehension; i.e. my partner requires straight lines in maps and refuses to work with the classic curved connecting lines.
I think that, in truth, it is probably our left/right visual/acoustic separations that will be proved to be simplistic, and that many more combinations are in fact relevant.
In fact, as far as I know, other than using XML in files, the major recent additional feature in Mind Manager is the ability to alter the charts’ elements and overall aesthetics; they probably got the message.
