I come out predominantly left on these tests. (20 out of 32 on the most recent, inspired by your post).
Would you expect mind mappig and concept mapping programs to appeal more to “right-brain” types, who are more visual than verbal? Or do you suppose that is too simplistic? (It seems at least a theoretical possibility that graphical approaches are most useful to those who need hard support for visual aspects of processing.)

According to a test ( http://www.angelfire.com/wi/2brains/brain.exe ), I am a 50-50 visual-acoustic and a 50-50 left-right thinker; most people are not that symmetric though—good for them as too much symmetry sometimes leads to confusion and indecision!- so their personal preference of mind tools would probably be different.
