One reason there’s no overabundance of programs designed for the average user aimed at finding things is that Microsoft has announced it will be releasing a product aimed at fnding things on a person’s disk.

Today, if one’s purpose is to find stuff in a vast heap of email information, perhaps the best program is X1. X1 Technologies entered the fray before the Microsoft announcement.

A pretty good free program that finds things on your disk without indexing is Wilbur.
