Yes, but that’s all one can do; indeed, the documentation refers to the various panes by position rather than name, which implies that their position is indeed fixed.
Personally I visualise hierarchy from top to bottom and from left to right; I find IDEA!‘s layout very confusing, especially having the text preview pane top left. The fact that the attachment list (top right) and the record list (bottom right) look very much alike is no help either.
It’s a pity because I very much like IDEA!‘s features. By contrast, General Knowledge Base, which seems to me a less able program, provides lots of different ready-made layouts accessible at the touch of a key.
Others might consider such concerns trivial but, for me, the ability working intuitively and logically can be the main reason for choosing a program over another.
