First, before I forget,
1. If you’re thinking of using GV, please note that without the manuals it will be a tough learning curve. Also, the printer drivers are way out of date. When I use GV (which is QUITE seldom) I use an HPL2A driver in which I fixed some problem so long ago that I don’t recall what the problem was.
2. There are many things to like in Inspiration, but it does not have the category or calendar functions of GV2 and some of the operations are less user-friendly than they might be. Inspiration is strictly aimed at students-mainly high school. While Ins. was in Ver 6, I tried to convince the Inspiration folk to include a calendar/to-do function, “for students to keep track of assignments,” I said, but really for me do do same. So far they haven’t taken the bait.
3. Ins. now is in ver 7.5a for Windows, 7.5b for Macs.
4. If you haven’t tried Inspiration’s diagramming feature, you should. I hated diagramming, but tried it in Ins. and found it useful.
5. I’m not sure I’m happy with the replacement of “child documents” with hyperlinked ones. I’ll have to see if it’s caused a loss of functionality.
