Outlining is not really a priority. I need a PIM able to create a simple database (forms for data entry and retrival of info) and hyperlink within multiple database and outside documents.
I need to be able to organize info in a tree for easy retrival (class, subject). But ultimately, I would like to be able to build data networks; ie hyperlink between documents. The backbone of the web will be documents called “outlines”, a summary level outline.
To be able to outline within a note is the icing on the cake. But since these “outline” will be fairly small, a formal outlining tool is not necessary.
I like Treepad Business for its database and hyperlink capability. You can also chose different numbering format. The absence of demo for IS has prevented me to look into it. But it seems at least as good. Because I will not use the tree for outlining but data management, I do not need to add comments.
As for Ariadne, it required Wind 2000 or XP. I am runningn on Win 98. And ADM 2.0 is far behind. I would like to try the 3.0 Beta.
In short, I am looking for a PIM with strong database and linking capabilities (and a good wordprocessor). Best, several database could be open simultaneously on the screen (like AskSam).
Thank for your suggestion.
