I’ve been using InfoSelect extensively during the past six months or so. It’s a nice program for storing and organizing notes, but it is a terrible outlining program. Its two main item types are “topics” and “notes.” Topics consist only of a title in the tree section, while notes have both a title and an editing pane for text, pictures, links, database fields, etc. The problem is that only topics can have sub-items. Also, you can’t adjust the labels for the topics… you only have triangles. Now, there is some restricted outlining ability in a note itself, as the program now features multi-level bullets, but I’ve found this to be fairly cumbersome. So if outlining is important to you, then I think you should look elsewhere. Then again, you’ll probably compromise other features to get the strong outlining.
