Why spreadsheet “popularity” and not outliner?

Because spreadsheets are like word processors, a basic tool for working with many numbers as word processors are for working with many words. Outliners are specialized tools that most people don’t feel a need for nor any desire to learn. Besides, didn’t you hate having to outline in high school? I always wrote an obligatory outline AFTER I had written the assigned paper.
