My sincere apology.
I reported the information as i have pieced it together. For about one year, symantec misled customers about the development status of Q&A for the Mac, MORE, GrandView, and other products. EMAILs were not returned. No direct answers were ever given.
I have thought for years that More was programmed in Pascal, and then ported to C.
Symantec tech support actually told me that More was dead because all Pascal programming projects were cancelled!
We were told that all Pascal Programmers were let go.
The problem rests with disinformation given by Symantec.
I am sorry I posted the original message. However, if you followed the Symantec Forum on Compuserve, you will know that there was a very vocal outcry when More and Grandview were cancelled. Symantec did not report for a year that the products were cancelled. This left a very bad taste in the mouths of More Users.
Everytime I use PowerPoint, I am frustrated at the loss of More and GrandView and am reminded that superior products die or are killed.
The fact that I do not know the full facts only adds to the anger.
It is also a great complement to the More Programmers that this kind of passion for a 10 year old product continues.
It continues because More could move outlines with graphics seamlessly between Word and PowerPoint with very complex organization.
No current product can do this.
I use a Windows based system. I would love to be able to have the kind of functionality I had in More in 1991, today.
Maybe, the full history can be written one day.
