I have gotten Gemulator to Run MORE. I have gotten Fusion to Run More.
Both of these programs are wonderful examples of what a dedicated programmer can accomplish. They are flawed though.
Gemulator has a developer who does not update and upgrade his customer base. I have had Gemulator for nearly two years. Even though I bought it to work with MacII roms, the developer has never updated me. When he said I could download a “beta”, it did not work. When a version did work, it was encrypted and the developer would not pass on the password. Gemulator still does not work for me…
Fusion worked well. Now it will not start. I have no idea why. When it worked, I was able to run More and system 7.5 Everything worked well.
In the end, DOS/Windows emulator work much better on the Mac than the two good Mac emulators work in windows. This is probably due to the fact that the mac emulators are each the products of one programer, both ports of emultors initially designed for the Amiga and the 68000 processor family.
What Fusion and Gemulator both prove is that the computing world is a less vibrant and useful place because the Claris project to migrate the Mac Desktop to the Intel platform was killed.
More is a great example of skillful pascal programming. It is very unfortunate that Symantec fired it’s entire pascal programming department before they had an opportuinty to complete Q&A for Windows and bring GrandView to the windows enivronment.
