MemoryMate caught my eye (and became a steady tool) because it was easy to use, uncluttered, quick, did one or two things well and felt good under my hands. I just dumped everything in there - my writing, phone/address list, to-dos (you had instant access to a record via the function keys)....it just worked. You know, it’s not that bad to keep schedules, reminders etc. in a plain old text file, esp. when you can insert date/time with one keystroke. Absolutely no need for outlines, structured database or other impositions.
And yes, MM and others were much more astounding (and useful) relative to typewriters and manilla file folders than (e.g.) ADM is relative to MM. The increments get smaller as we move on. But you never know; I live in hope that I’ll be thrilled again!
