Recently I commented on Karteset, a new integration of outlining and free form database technology. Karteset uses outlining in its key words, instead of allowing the user to apply it to the output--which is how another product called Literary Machine does it.

Karteset is a new product, without any pretensions to great power, but the idea seemed promising. I wondered whether anyone had developed this approach further. I'm pleased to report that the answer is affirmative. My present impression is that it represents the state of the art in merging hierarchy an keyword based free form technology. The product is called MDE InfoHandler:

It is actually a fairly mature product with a long gestation before it became commercial.
