I am not sure what the official limitation is, but I regularly have files of over 100k, and I just found one one of 279k. So it looks as though one is unlikely to hit the limit in normal use - especially as GV is for outlining.

Some of the earlier programs like PC-Outline (the DOS version) could only handle up to 64k I believe.

As to compressing the files, I don’t see why there should be a problem, but I haven’t needed to try.
