Hello—
I have reviewed the past year’s messages here and believe this has not been addressed.
I am writing a review of several Mac OS X outliners and am going about it this way:
First, I am listing ALL features that an outliner might have on any platform, giving examples and at least one screenshot. I hope to comprehensively list all Mac OS X outliners or products that employ outlining in this way. This is not an application checklist nor will it concern cost or usability, instead it will deal with things like cloning, links, columns, sorts, hoisting, multilevels and such. X11 outliners (Koutliner, ...) will be considered OS X available.
Second, I hope to provide a brief history of outliners, just because why not? I intend to begin with LISP editors in the 70’s. It will consist of name, date introduced, key feature(s), platform. I hope to include a few influential papers as well (Memex, Augment).
Then of course we will have a reasonable basis for the reviews. The three parts should inter-relate and be an interesting read.
I am in dire need of help. Anyone with any bit to contribute is invited to email me at
Best, Ted
