Addvice/Warning - Save those obsolete setup files

Perhaps this missive will save someone from grief.
I expect that, as I, most of the subscribers to this site use shareware. After 9-11 I used a tree-style shareware outliner/PIM to save many of the photographs of the attack and its aftermath. Many of these files are large, say 15mb.
Last night I tried opening these files only to discover that the latest version of this PIM would open the smaller files (< 1.5 mb) but would not open the larger ones. The natural first thought: Corrupted files ==> Great Sorrow!!
However, I was able to find the setup file for an earlier version of this PIM. I installed it and ...SUCCESS. The earlier version opened the larger files.
Point explicated.
