Steve,
I like WanyWord, too. There is also another free search engine by RedTree called Wilbur (http://www.redtree.com). It will index everything, including indexing, searching and displaying htm and pdf files in a readable form. Well worth a look if you are looking for a free search engine to match the commercial ones, such as DTSearch, SEARCH32, and the rest.
Of course, although it will index and display outliner output, it doesn’t have the viewers to provide a formatted display. I still use Lotus Magellan for indexing, searching and displaying text in most of my older DOS software files. It has a viewer for Grandview, Agenda, and WordPerfect, and its Word viewer still works for recent (e.g. Word97) files. What a spendid old trooper <g>.
