More trivia:
Millennium Software basically turned into NetCode,
which developed some NeXT-like class frameworks
for Java. Netscape bought them, and released
the frameworks as IFC, the Internet Foundation Classes.
If I’m not mistaken, a lot of the design ideas in
IFC were discarded when Netscape and Sun came
up with JFC and Swing, which is a shame, because
NetCode had a Java UI-building application
that was like NeXT’s Interface Builder in that
it didn’t produce code, but rather produced
archived interfaces, so the UI could be modified
independently of the code, and vice-versa.
The AquaMinds domain is registered by a guy who
also worked with NetCode, and also worked at FarCast.
That was Adams and Love’s company which provided an
email news clipping service. He also worked at
NeXT, where he was involved with the MusicKit.
Anyway, I’m really happy to have NoteBook/NoteTaker
back. It was one of my favorite NeXT apps.
