Many THANKS to Derek!!!
He has found that you can again get ECCO PRO and for free!
Get it via: http://www.compusol.org/cs/ecco/
Ecco Pro was discontinued several years ago and users tried for years to either buy it or get its owners to make it shareware. Apparently someone finally succeeded.
The owner no longer supports it, but there is a very active Ecco users group at groups.yahoo.com.
Ecco Pro was/is one of the best PIMs ever. It has columns, calendar, outline-style notepads, synch with Palm, and infinitely more.
ANYONE looking for a PIM should download it now while they have the chance.
I use it as a “To Do”, diary, bookmark file, etc. It has far more capabilities than you would ever use.
However, its outlining features are relatively primitive. Unlike GrandView and some other outliners, it is not a good tool for writing documents. (Derek: I used GV for writing from beginning to end, including for mathematical/statistical documents.)
