In my eagerness to report back I realized that I had missed out a crucial step in “the cut-and-paste into NoteMap” routine I mentioned in my first reply to Steve.
It does appear to be possible to cut-and-paste accurately and outline from GV (a DOS) program into NotePad, a Windows one. For one thing, it is very laborious to c&p one frame at a time as one needs to when using the clipboard with a DOS program. And, second, odd things happen to the outline as it appears in NotePad: either lines get clipped, or the ends of long lines get wrapped and treated as new headings.
What you need to do - and this is where Steve’s excellent suggestion comes in - is to export a “no-label-indented-paragraph” file from GV, import it into Word, and then cut-and-paste into NotePad from there. This makes for a rather cumbersome process:
1. Export from GV to Word
2. Cut-and-paste from Word to NoteMap
3. Export outline from NoteMap back into Word again.
...but it seems to work - at least if it is done in 32k bites at a time.
I think I’ll download Inspiration <g>.
