Re the books, I think I started out writing them in comments windows but quickly discovered I could do as well writing whole paragraphs as “headlines”.

I particularly liked the MORE formatting possibilities in Rules.

As to footnotes, I use a format with no numbered footnotes; i.e., (Babbie, 1993:23) in the text.
