I have had one goal in the past 5 years...to run More 3.1 on a modern machine.

I have used More under OSX and OS9.2 with good success.

I really wanted More to run under windows.

Well thanks to the Basilisk II emulator, I have succeed.

I have a image of the ROM in my old Quadra 650 and a copy of System 7.5.

I installed the emulator, set up a hard disk file, booted with a floppy Disk Tools from system 7.5, then formatted the hard disk file and then installed system 7.5 on the hard disk. After a reboot, it all worked. I loaded More from floppy disk and it all works.

I currently can not print, or use networking.

Built in File sharing also is not working.

so...

I set up a second hard disk file, and use the utility HFVExplorer to read the disk file from windows. I can not copy files to and from the second data disk.

I then installed Print2PDF. This is my printer. I print all files to a PDF, then copy them to Windows. In Windows, I use Acrobat Reader to display or print the file.

I have succeed reading Zip disks, CDROMs, both PC and Mac formatted.

I am using Windows 2000 Professionl on my desktop and WinME on a Sony Picturebook.

Mac OS 7.5 under Windows 2000 alows MORE to run faster, and more reliably than under OSX.

I only wish Apple would take the lead and create first a 68040 environment for Windows then a PowerPC environment. Until then, this works and keeps MORE in use for me.

Joel,

I've been running a similar setup for a while now (OS8.1), and I agree with your assessment, although I find the files that printToPDF makes a bit "stretchy" looking. I wish I could just print to my networked printer. Also, you might try the export to Pict with PowerPoint.
