Hi Jonathan and others,
So far I’ve gotten a trial registration to Radio 8 weblogger but have not yet installed the online outlining element. I have to acknowledge the justice in Jonathan’s statement that he only understands 20% of Dave’s online discussion of Radio. I think I’ve got 30%-40% (maybe) but much of the radio-related discourse is not yet clear to me either. And we’re not alone. A friend of mine who works as an IT consultant in one of the big-six consulting firms (not Anderson!!) - and who like many of us has used or toyed with every outliner/pim, etc. under the sun - emailed me a few months ago that “I can’t fathom radio”.
My proposal: I think it would be very helpful if Dave himself could post some clarification of his product here.
Very sincerely,
Eric Sommer
P.S. Regarding your query on the relationship between ADM and the World Wide Outline; we did have in mind using ADM as the client and authoring tool for this system, but given that others - notably Dave Winer - are also active in this arena, I think everyone may need to look at some sort of standaards, though its perhaps a little early in the process, as I think all of us are still experimenting.
PPS. Jonathen, as you are using ADM, you will probably grasp my meaning when I say that the World Wide Outline can subsume the entire web/html world!
