I had posted a message in December (supra msg# 1217,1218) asking for advice on the best outlining software and Steve Zeoli and Steve Cohen were kind enough to answer w/ their experiences. I went ahead and purchased NoteMap and have been using it since. My thanks to both Steve’s.
Now, I’d like to offer Greg of CaseSoft, who I was told monitors this forum for feedback, some suggestions after working with NoteMap for a few months doing many an outline.
Suggestions for NoteMap:
1) All Cap button to capitalize letters;
2) abiltiy for user to enter autocorrect macros as shorthand words;
3) capability to insert tables;
4) footnote/header feature to add ‘# page of pages;’
5) feature to view two pages on one screen in edit mode or print preview mode (like Word for Windows);
6) autocorrect spelling, spelling underlining, automatic capitalizing
7) no limit to # of levels allowed or at least increase it;
8) autosave feature;
9) zooming capability to view text so I don’t have to change my font size while working and then change it back to font 12, for example when I print;
10) program macro for symbols;
11) EDIT UNDO recorder action list——> this has by far CAUSED ME THE MOST ANGUISH, as there won’t be a way to back up actions beyone one step after a slip of greater than one action - so that work is lost.
Besides problem referenced in suggestion #11, I’ve been very happy with NoteMap and was thrilled to be rid of using Word for outlining. Again, thanks to those on this board for the advice.
Regards,
Liz
