Just checked the sources into CVS on SourceForge and have the start of a website for the OS X outliner I've started working on.

If anyone's interested, it's at: http://www.decafbad.com/arboretum/

It's my first real Cocoa project, but I've been using it to organize tasks and thoughts at work daily. It's got a long way to go, needs much documentation, but I figured I'd mention it. The main goal behind it is to make it extremely open and extensible with plug-in bundles. It should be easy to write import/export modules for every format under the sun. At present, I've got OPML import, and might just have export this weekend.

Maybe if I find that I've got an interested audience I'll work harder on it. :)

It's good to hear that there are others working on outlining in OSX. This has become my platform of choice, and I've been using Omnioutliner-- which I like, except for the fact that it doesn't support numbered lists etc.

When do you think it will be available for download. I'd like to have a look if that's possible.

What language will you be writing in? I'd suggest Java and open, extensible like jEdit.org would be real neat!

Btw, please keep this open source, since you dont have any bills to pay :)

I was amazed when I found this site and actually downloaded and used MORE! in the Classic environment within OSX. ThinkTank was the first program I ever bought for my Mac in 1985. It was simple and elegant. I'll never forget staring at that white screen with only a ñ to start with. I used MORE for many years. Frankly, none of the current crop of outliners has the simplicity and intuitive feel of ThinkTank and MORE. Dragging and dropping and using simple keyboard commands to move headings back and forth. My advice is to keep it simple and Aqua-beautiful!
