I used to use a DOS based outliner called KAMAS - "Knowledge and Mind Amplification System" that I absolutely loved. It was written by Adam Trent, originally for CPM, then DOS, then, by all accounts, it vanished, although it's still on some shareware sites. Anybody know what happened to Mr. Trent?

That's what I love about this site: I learn about other outliners that I'd never heard of before, like KAMAS. I located a copy at www.palmtop.net/super4.html, downloaded it and have been having fun
fooling around with it on my PC. Thanks for the info, James.

Hey what a neat find! I bought Kamas ages ago and used it under CP/M.
But sadly, when I try to run the version I just downloaded from the "palmtop" webpage, all I get is "KAMAS init failure". I'm running Windows ME and I tried the DOS window, such as it is, as well as running from a window.
Ideas anyone? Not a very helpful error message.
Thanks,
-Pete

Could this be something as simple as needing the "FILES=20" and BUFFERS=20" in the config.sys file?
