Dude, you got it right. It's all in the image.

A new release, version 8.6, adds several more interesting features to Tinderbox -- from Eastgate's release notes

Taskade
3/11/2020
Ugh. Not competitive. Todoist, for example, offers recurring tasks at the free level, and for $3/month offers a load of features far better than Taskade, IMO.
Maybe not fair to compare, but when p...
White board software
3/11/2020
The scales fell from my eyes. I've never considered using Keynote (or Numbers or Pages) in iCloud.com but they are really good, and you can drop the online document down to the desktop in either Appl...
MindRaider + MindForger
3/10/2020
I found a way out of the maze. Look at the path in the MindForger tab in macOS of the document you created and cannot close. Quit MindForger. Navigate to that document in Finder and delete it. Emp...
MindRaider + MindForger

MindForger looks interesting. I made the mistake of creating a new file of my own, and now I cannot get back to the out-of-the-box experience of the introductory files that were installed when MindF...
White board software

It's easy to overthink. Walk into a conference room, look at the white board. Anything can be written, drawn, posted on it.
IMO, that's what good white board software emulates. No structure, j...
White board software

I get the passion. It's your invention.
It's nice software. My comment is my personal assessment. Wouldn't think of HyperPlan for white boarding.

White board software

Corkulous is cute, but the default ugly skeuomorphic cork board metaphor is so so '80s.
Wouldn't think of HyperPlan for white boarding -- and it as no web or iOS/iPadOS presence anyway.

New app: Columns
3/6/2020
It's cute. More of a proof-of-concept app than a worker bee. Won't replace my own Cornell template in GoodNotes 5. But, for $1.99, a quick CRMIP.
It makes some design assumptions not consistent w...

Keeping a day log, journal, or the like, is helpful when reviewing one's notes -- taking care to always date notes so that you can check the journal for contemporaneous context when reviewing the note...
Thank you for the long and thoughtful reply, @Matthias Steffans.
I'm sold! Is there a beta? I'd love to get started.
@Matthias Steffans -- Keypoint looks interesting, but is it different than Highlights?
@jbp good point about DEVONthink. There are lots of academic workflow blogs that incorporate DEVONthink. I ...

Tinderbox 8.5 is out and includes some nice new features -- including a "Cross Tab" view for evaluating values in attributes associated with notes.
Nifty.

Clibu Notes v0.42.00 Released

Yes, I can read also, and saw that.
I want to know where "locally" the data are? Shouldn't be a difficult question.

Clibu Notes v0.42.00 Released
2/20/2020
Where is the local data store for Clibu Notes? Can notes be exported / imported?
Can it be run completely local and never access the internet?
TreePad site is up. Slightly different.

"Build your own ounce"
Cool.
Someone was camped out waiting for that domain registration to lapse.
Your best bet might be archives.org
FWIW, downloads on site snapshots at archives.org frequently work, but not always.
Not to mention the possible intellectual property / stepping on toes business o...
Agenda versus NotePlan
2/10/2020
I posted separately about the image thing, too. Very nice. Thanks @Eduard
I turned off my Agenda subscription and stopped using it. The interface was way too fiddly. I think they made some decis...
NotePlan now supports image attachments
2/10/2020
NotePlan continues its regular pace of updates -- the latest release across all platforms (Apple only, sorry) supports image attachments in notes. Done in a more functional way than with Agenda.

Editorial Vivant?

I noticed that too. Last change was 2yr ago, and before that it looks like there was an update once a year since the product launched 6 years ago. Editorial is very stable and not in need of much ch...
Good point. macOS-only is a significant limitation for this kind of application.

iPad productivity 10 years later

Are Surface Pro's reliable and durable -- they feel flimsy. And that model with the carpeting on the keyboard is ... odd. Don't know if it is still offered.
Ugh, please no. Not another zombie subscription. You're killing us. My interest in your promise of new features vanished when I read "we might consider a subscription". I'll pay for upgrades or ...
