OneNote for Mac on the horizon...
3/13/2014
This is good news -- thanks for the tip. My OneNote library grows steadily.
It will be interesting to see what "full-fledged" (the reviewer's words) means in practice. Neither OneNote on the web...
Steve, thank you!

Thank you for your very helpful post. Did you migrate your work to Intellect -- or are you in evaluation mode?
I evaluated Time and Chaos about 6 or 7 years ago, and at the time I was concern...

Sorry, should have recognized this as a Gatekeeper error -- the download is not "damaged". It's just not recognized as safe. To fix it, open a Terminal and navigate to the folder where the applicati...

Looks interesting, thanks for the post.
Over here on OS X 10.9.2 with Java up-to-date, the app reports "damaged and cannot be opened". Any Mac users here had success?

Looks like an interesting modeler with a workable web interface on desktop and tablet. Has anyone any experience / comments about this?

Recent blog posts from Kieran Healy and Dr. Drang describing their respective report production techniques. This is at the back-end of the research-outline-notetaking-writing process and fine-tuned f...
It's possible today with webbrain.com (theBrain Cloud Services) to work with a brain in a browser on a mobile device. I do not see this as an Evernote replacement, however, now or any likely time soo...

@MadaboutDana thanks for the mini-review and reply. I'll check out the Windows beta.
Can TheBrain be synced without the cloud

I too have kept my brains in Dropbox for several years and not had a problem -- but I never access them on multiple machines simultaneously. Now that I use Pro Combo I should move them out of Dropbox...

The desktop Mac version of Notebooks was recently updated and seems a bit buggy -- i.e., difficult to drag notes between notebooks using a trackpad; some metadata (descriptions, ...
Hog Bay pulls back its iOS applications

In fairness, why is that indicative of Grosjean's faults rather than Apokalypse's?
Having been a sole proprietor for quite a while, I'd report that it's not easy to "make a plan and stick to it". Ho...

Nice features. A bit buggy (HTML export show footnote superscript markers for only the first note) - but not much.
Price is right for the paid subscription.

That's an interesting development. I wonder if anyone has successfully created a profitable app from open-sourced abandonware. The core target audience is desktop TaskPaper users, probably not a lar...
Doesn't Workflowy communicate with the Workflowy mothership? I could see a case where the developer will want to deprecate an iOS app because then they do not have the cost of keeping their server co...
Pulling the app from the App Store doesn't mean the installed copy you have will stop working. TaskPaper is pretty simple, so its probably going to work for a while to come. It used to be the case t...

I use Evernote daily and regularly and only on OS X and iOS. I read Jason Kincaid's post thinking "huh"? I've not experienced instability and have been pleased to see steady improvement and addition...
