Evernote Privacy Policy Changes
12/15/2016
Thanks.
I read the policy when Evernote sent a note to users last week or so. It's so convoluted that there's no reason to expect Evernote won't be reading and "evaluating" user data.

iMindMap10 released today
12/15/2016
It is nice. I bought the upgrade, too. iMindMap is pleasant to use -- I don't like, however, that task management is allocated to a separate app with it's own pricey subscription, Droptask. Dropta...
OutlineEdit 1.6

Why? Robin is entitled to whatever he charges, just like any developer. There are not enough independents trying to succeed in the "productivity" sector. They deserve every penny.

Outlinely 2.5 adds wiki-style links
11/25/2016
The new version (2.5) also added "Search & Navigate" -- a "dialog [that] allows you to search for any topic in your outline. All topics with matched words will be rendered along with its parents topic...
Also reminds me of VUE and CmapTools
Interesting concept, documentation, video.. The beta itself is a bit rough. Teeeeeeeny tiny font sizes. Good start, though.

Windows vs. Mac plus Parallels

Well, it's pretty easy to configure keyboard shortcuts to assign key combos on the Mac to Windows keys -- I've configured ⌥I to trigger "Insert" in Windows. It's a one-time setting in the optio...
Windows vs. Mac plus Parallels

Second question first. I run Windows on my Mac because (a) my clients use Outlook on Windows, and Outlook meeting invites (which I get dozens of each week) are completely incompatible with Mac's Cale...
Windows vs. Mac plus Parallels
11/18/2016
I run Windows 10 in Parallels 11 on my MacBook Air and have for 10+ hours, daily, for years. I usually have both OS's running side by side. It's great. Parallels makes the Mac apps and filesystem st...

TheBrain 9 reaches its beta phase

I agree this product is ready to replace v8. I've mentioned before, I've used v9 since the first alpha release and it has come a long way in a relatively short period.
If you have issues or sugg...

Whoa ... thanks for the tips about Trunk Notes. It's been sitting fallow on my iPad for a long time. You're right, Bill -- very cool features. I had never used the server. With that running, it's...

v1.6.0 is available on the MAS too. Lots of "new" and "fixed" things in the release notes.

Nottingham was an early clone of Notational Velocity (I think it might have preceded NVAlt). After a number of years in limbo, the app is back in development and Nottingham 3 is now released.

This was an error -- the share extension is available on OS X. Apologies.

Columns and filtering by columns

I agree with the recommendation for Excel but for sophistication look at Neo and Tinderbox. I don't recall seeing column filtering in OmniOutliner, though.
